Rebranding: New Logo, New Stories

Sloths! Long time no talk, why might that be? A rebrand has been on the horizon, and multiple months in the making, we're here. New logos, fonts, and friends have all played their parts in a new and improved Sloth. An upcoming partnership announcement, an African American drama, and a thriller short are all on their way to you, but until then, let's reflect on where we've been and what's coming.

I started Salty Sloth Productions in 2018 due to a desire to make change through film. . . or at least that's what I marketed. Back then I didn't honestly know what it meant to make change, not in the real way, at least. I knew what it meant to be passionate about a project, to want the world to be a better place, what kind of waves I wanted to make, but I didn't realize that change doesn't have to look like moved mountains. That change can simply be allowing one story to be told. Change for me used to be saving lives, and I always thought I knew how, but now I realize what it truly is. Stories don't have to be grand to be change-makers. They don't have to be broadcasted on a silver screen or signed by Netflix. Stories can be told in paintings hanging in your Nana's living room. Stories might be found a piece of pottery that sits on your dresser. Stories can be told by a play, or a dance, or a magazine cover, and my favorite of all, stories can be told by a 15 year old girl from Bristol who thinks filmmaking is cool.

We have no plans to stop filming anytime soon, that is not what this change is about. This change is about exploring the creative, in all aspects of the word. Exploring the people and places around us and asking them, "What story do you tell?" I have a feeling ours is only at the start. Our change is going to come in a few layers. A new logo, new partnerships, and clearer defined motivators are just a few of the ways. "But why ditch the logo?" I keep getting asked, and to me the answer is simple. The new logo is the defining signifier of our fresh start. I want to open us up to a wider variety of creative channels, and a clean sweep is just the way to do that. Everyone has a story, and we're ready to start telling them, even if that means we need a new face to do so.

Tell your story, Ms.Sloth
