A college professor is found murdered the day before Thanksgiving, sparking an investigation led by Detective Asher Levin. As more victims are discovered, each killed with religious symbolism, the detectives uncover a disturbing pattern tied to the Nativity, faith and judgement. With the holidays approaching and panic rising, he must catch the killer before the next act of "penance" is carried out, one that will challenge Asher to explore his own faith, courage and family ties.
